Privacy policy
housemap (“the operator”) handles visitors’ information on housemap.link (おうちに置いてみる, “this site”) as follows. This is an English translation; the Japanese version is the original.
1. Information we collect
This site has no sign-up or contact forms. The operator does not collect your name, address, phone number or similar details.
Words you type into the search box at the top of the page are recorded by the operator to improve the site. See “Words typed into the search box” below.
The following information is sent to the operator and to third parties as described under “Analytics” and “Information sent to third parties” below:
- URLs of pages you view, the referrer (the page you came from) and the time
- Browser and device type, screen size, and approximate region (estimated from your IP address)
- Identifiers such as cookies, and clicks on store links (which product and which store)
Sizes you enter for your space or delivery route on product pages are stored only in your browser (localStorage). They are not sent to the operator or anyone else, and are deleted when you clear the site data in your browser.
When you choose a language with “日本語 / English” at the top of the page, your choice is stored in a cookie named lang for one year. It is used only to show pages in the same language next time, and the operator does not record it. On your first visit, if your browser’s language setting is not Japanese, you are taken to the English page. This uses only the language setting your browser sends, and nothing is recorded.
Words typed into the search box
The operator records words typed into the search box (both product or model searches and questions in your own words). We record the words, the number of products shown, the time, and the product page that was open at the time.
Records are not linked to IP addresses or cookie identifiers, so we cannot tell who searched. Anything that looks like an email address or phone number is masked before it is recorded. Please do not type personal information such as your name or contact details into the search box.
We use the records to learn which products people look for and which searches find nothing, so we can add products and improve search. They are stored on the operator’s Cloudflare servers and deleted automatically after about 13 months.
2. Analytics (Google Analytics)
This site uses Google Analytics 4, an analytics service from Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect the information in section 1. We use it to see which pages are read and which store links are clicked, in order to improve the site. It is not used to identify individuals.

To stop measurement, disable cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from Google. The site works normally with cookies disabled.
3. Information sent to third parties
When you open this site, information is sent to the following third parties (disclosed under the external transmission rules of Japan’s Telecommunications Business Act).

While no Google Analytics measurement ID is set, nothing is sent to Google.
4. Affiliate programs
This site takes part in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate program that lets sites earn referral fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.jp, and in Rakuten Affiliate.

When you click a store link, Amazon or Rakuten Ichiba may use cookies to record where you came from. For how they handle information, see their privacy policies.
5. Sharing with third parties
The operator does not give collected information to third parties except where required by law, apart from the transmissions to the third parties described in sections 2 to 4.
